وصف البرنامج

The Investment Banking Professional Programme (IBP) is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge that ensures you possess the key success factors amidst the highly competitive world of investment banking and corporate finance. The programme will equip you with core desk-ready skills, amongst which are: Financial Forecasting and Modelling, Advanced Asset Valuation, in addition to M&A and Financial Engineering Models. The IBP will guide you on how to analyse the macroeconomic environment, identify key macro indicators, highlight potential risks, and understand the main laws, acts, contracts and agreements that every seasoned investment banker must be cognizant of.  

 

By combining the fundamentals of strategy and corporate finance, you will develop a professional understanding of i) how shareholders' value is created, measured and sustained, ii) how markets react to value-creation/destruction, how to foresee where M&A opportunities lie and predict synergies, regardless of stock market pressures and urgency for growth, via a practical approach based on real-life cases. 

 

The programme will equip you with real-life case studies and customised content to ensure relevance to Emerging Markets’ business environment. You will learn from top-notch professors and industry professionals who deliver hands-on knowledge, in line with real job market demands, ensuring an enhanced on-the-job performance. You will get access to a digital platform for presenting and discussing relevant best practices. Last but not least, you will get a great opportunity to widen your professional network through interactions with industry experts, corporate executives and classmates.

كيف يعمل

  • The programme is delivered in 160 hours categorised by self-paced digital content and 20 hours of live virtual classes. It consists of three optional courses and eleven core courses. The average course duration is approximately 25 weeks, based on an estimated ten-hour learning time per week. 

معايير الشهادة

Participants must score at least the passing grade in the digital exams at the end of each self-paced digital course to unlock the next one and attend its respective live virtual class. The overall assessment of participants will be based on their exams score, in addition to their grades in the case studies, assignments and group projects.

A prominent Egyptian Finance professional, professor and distinguished speaker. Currently, he holds the position of Managing Director, Global Head of Research and Member of the IB Management Committee at EFG Hermes, the leading investment bank in the MENA region and across the Frontier-Emerging Markets asset class. He heads a team of highly-qualified Emerging Markets financial analysts in more than ten countries across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia and has taken remarkable strides in expanding EFH Hermes’s coverage to 25 emerging and frontier markets. He is also a member of the board of directors of several companies in fintech, supply chain and technology and sits on the advisory board of some investment funds.   As an Adjunct Faculty of Management at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Shams El Din taught finance and investment to MBA and Master of Corporate Finance (MCF) students, as well as undergraduates. He writes frequently on economics and financial markets for local and international newspapers.     A top-ranked financial analyst in EMEA by international investors, Shams El Din assessed and valued some of the largest MENA-listed companies in oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilisers, mining, construction and building materials, logistics and other industries. He was a core contributor to the successful conclusion of most of the largest corporate deals and initial public offerings (IPOs) in the MENA region and on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

Gilles Hilary

Accounting Academic
Professor Gilles Hilary is a Chaired Professor of Accounting at a leading US university and a former Mubadala Chaired Professor at INSEAD. Hilary has taught in different capacities at INSEAD, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, HEC Paris, HKUST, Tsinghua University, and several other institutions. He regularly teaches courses on financial analysis, risk management and behavioural finance. His research has been profiled in publications such as the Financial Times, Le Monde, Bloomberg, Businessweek, Forbes, among others. He has presented his research at places such as Harvard University, Yale University, Beijing University, or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, among many others. He has received multiple teaching and research awards such as the Deans’ Commendation for Excellence in MBA Teaching (INSEAD), the Franklin Prize for Teaching Excellence (HKUST) or the Prix Syntec (French Consulting Association award for best academic research). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and a French professional accounting degree (DESCF).

He is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Hub71 and Capital Formation Advisor at Beco Capital. He was the CFO of Swvl, first mass transit marketplace to go public globally and the first unicorn from the Middle East to list on Nasdaq. He has 13 years of investment banking experience as Executive Director and Senior Advisor with Moelis and before that with QInvest, executing >$100bn of capital raises, financings, M&A, and restructurings across >60 transactions. He is a CFA Charterholder, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, ex-adjunct Professor of Practice at the American University in Cairo, youngest CFO on both Nasdaq and ADX and was featured in Forbes Middle East 30 under 30 list.

Danielle Stein Fairhurt

Danielle Stein Fairhurst is regularly engaged as a speaker, course facilitator, financial modelling consultant and analyst. She founded the Financial Modellers' Meetup groups (which currently meet virtually) and she is the author of "Using Excel for Business and Financial Modelling" Third Edition and "Financial Modeling in Excel For Dummies". With many years of experience, a talent for financial modelling and professional approach, she helps her clients create meaningful financial models in the form of business cases, pricing models and management reports. She runs regular training seminars around Australia and globally, and her custom-built training courses have been described by attendees as well-presented, neatly structured, informative, practical, and extremely relevant to their everyday needs. She is available for presentations, workshops, training courses, lectures and seminars. Topics include Financial Modelling using Excel, Budgeting & Forecasting and Data Analysis & Reporting.She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and has taught management accounting subjects at Sydney University. Ahmed Hazem Maher

Director - Industrials / Small & Mid-cap
Ahmed Hazem Maher joined EFG-Hermes Research in 2013 as an equity research analyst in the materials team, with a primary focus on fertilisers, steel, as well as other diversified holding companies in the MENA region. He is currently the lead analyst covering MENA Industrials and Materials, in addition to Small- &Mid-cap stocks (primarily in Egypt). Prior to joining EFG Hermes, he was a senior research analyst at Prime Holding in Cairo, Egypt. Ahmed graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  Hazem ranked the 23rd best analyst in MENA by Extel Survey 2019, which was the highest industrials analyst
